Assignment # 7 Rocky 3 (8 out of 10)

In many ways the Rocky movies are classics. When ever you hear the name Rocky Balboa automatically you think of the ultimate boxing super hero. I love these series of movies for the strong impact and inspiration it gave many people to get involved with the sport. This movie gives kids, teens, and adults inspiration to achieve goals, and shows that even the impossible can be achieved if you work hard enough to get what you want. I like that this movie can be enjoyed by both men and women. Although boxing as a sport is mainly enjoyed by men, this movie makes all ages and genders enjoy and appreciate the sport more. My favorite part of this movie is when Rocky takes on the challange of fighting someone he isn't sure he can defeat. I also like that whenever people hear the theme song from the movie they relate it to working and doing something they want to achieve.

I would suggest this movie to anyone who likes positive movies. You know the rocky movies are always going to end happily and thats why i enjoyed this movie. I would give this movie an 8 out of 10. This was the first of the rocky movies i have seen and hope to see more soon!

Assignment # 5 Serendipity (7 out of 10)

The movie serendipity in my eyes is a very interesting love story. It's not the typical romance movie that you normally see. I liked this movie because it has adventure and mystery to it. The whole movie is based off of the idea of destiny. I also liked the fact that this movie shows that if two people love each other and its meant to be then they will find each other in the long run. Even though the main characters were both engaged and about to marry other people, they still found each other. Although this movie is hard to believe I liked the ideas that they put forth. I also liked the fact that they used objects to help find each other. If this movie were realistic it would be very romantic. I also like that the movie was filmed in New York City. The setting of the movie gives you a feel of romance and also shows how destine the couple was for the city's large population, it would have been almost impossible to find each other but because of fate they did.

I would recommend this movie to hopeless romantics. This movie isn't really for people and don't believe in love. This movie also isn't for people that are not strong believers in destiny and fate. This movie would most likely suit couples that are in love. I wouldn't suggest this movie to younger viewers because it might give them an idea of false hope to find a "soul mate".

Assignment # 4 Finding Nemo (9 out of 10)

Finding Nemo is in my eyes one of Disney's best-animated movies. Everything about this movie is so realistic that you feel as though you’re really in the ocean traveling along with Merlin; Nemos dedicated father looking for his son. My favorite parts of this movie are the bright energetic colors that they use. It really helps give you an idea of what certain creatures look like. I also like the fact that this movie uses a lot of comedy. Not only are the physical features of this movie amazing but also the lessons it teaches you can help younger and older people learn from the characters in the movie.  The characters in this movie also show great signs of improvement and development.  For instance Dori a fish with short term memory loss, slowly over comes her problem with the help of Merlin. Nemo Merlins son also learns to accept what his father tells him to do. The creatures that live around Nemo and Merlin also develop by accepting Merlin more, which makes him more comfortable in there community. I also like how this movie helps you understand that family and friends are everything, and without them we would probably be lost just like Nemo was. This movie teaches parents to help let go and not to overwhelm their children with rules and regulations. It also teaches kids that if you work together with your parents and realize there trying to help you then it could help problems in the long run.

I would recommend this movie to a wide variety of people young and old. I feel that Disney did a wonderful job. This movie also helps kids get familiar with ocean life and what kind of roles they play under water. This movie isn't just a kids cartoon it’s a learning experience for everyone and an amazing film. Finding Nemo is adventurous, funny, family oriented and an all around amazing movie. Its a must see.

Assignment # 3 Karate Kid (8 out of 10)

The karate kid is a very inspirational movie in many ways. The movie starts out with a young boy named Daniel. Daniel and his mother have to pack up their things and move from New Jersey all the way to California. Daniel isn't very happy about this but he goes along with it to help his mother out. Not only does Daniel respect his mom my moving to California but it shows the good qualities that are in him as well.  The challenges that come with the move don’t stop and that's when Daniel realizes he needs to learn karate to help him keep himself safe. Daniel and Mr. Miaggis bond grow much stronger and they end up being very good friends. I feel like this wouldn't have been such a good movie if this bond and friendship didn't happen.  I think it was smart of the director to add this kid and adult friendship to the movie because its rare and you don’t see bonds like these very often. This movie teaches you many lessons. One being never gives up on what you want to achieve. I also love that this movie shows that everyone has problems. Even Mr. Miaggi has to deal with the problems he has with his wife dieing and it shows that bad things happen to everyone and being positive and moving on is the best way to get passed the hard times in life.

I would recommend this movie to an audience of all ages. I can be watched with the family or with a couple of friends. It suits every ones liking. This movie also shows how valuable friendship should be to everyone. Without the dedication Mr. Miaggi showed to Daniel here would have been no way Daniel could have achieved the goals he wanted to achieve.  This movie also has a love story in it, which makes it appealing to young girls as well. Overall I would suggest this movie to anyone. It’s a classic.

Assignment # 2 comparing movies

The two movies we watched are very different in many ways. The older version of the movie has much more of a lighter happier feel to the movie. While the new version of the movie is somewhat dark and scary. The older movie is also very musical and could be considered a classic movie that everyone loves. On the other hand the new movie isn't as memorable as the older movie.  The directors of the movies both had two different perceptions of how they wanted people to see their movies. One being loving and warm and the other being dark and strange. The new movie also follows a different story line. They get way more in depth of Willy Wonkas background life and how he got to be where he is now, while in the older movie they don't really say much about his life besides the fact he owns the chocolate factory.

I personally feel that the older version of this movie is way better. I think the new version goes a little to over the top. The older version is too modernized and I like the classic version much better. I also liked the music parts of the older version a lot more. It also reminds me of my childhood. Another reason I don't like the new version as much is because of its darkness and strange humor. Although I love the director of this movie I have to say trying to remake a classic movie like this is difficult and I didn't care for it
